This is a kombucha home-brewing demonstration and tasting workshop! We will discuss the history, health benefits and production methods of this ancient tea. We'll play with different "Mothers" (aka, SCOBY's) that make all the magic happen. We'll also do a kombucha tasting so you get an idea of how different teas and flavors make all of the difference. Workshop fee also includes a GIST Mother (SCOBY) for you to take home!

Class Instructor is Ky Guse, current PhD student in Human Nutrition and a microbiome researcher at the University of Minnesota. Ky's research focuses on understanding the microbiome of lacto-fermented vegetables and kombucha and their impact on human health.
